The Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL are now made the official at the Google event. Though the design and specifications of the devices are already leaked, today, we got the official confirmation along with the pricing and availability of the device. As the name suggests, the Pixel 2 XL is bigger device among the two, but almost shares same internals as on Pixel 2.

Both the device runs on Android Oreo out of the box. The Pixel 2 XL sports a  6-inch OLED display with Quad HD+ resolution (2880 x 1440 pixels) offering a pixel density of 538ppi. On the other hand, the 5-inch AMOLED display with FHD resolution on the Pixel 2 comes with a pixel density of 441ppi. It comes powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC. It includes 4GB of RAM, Adreno 540 GPU and 64GB/128GB  of internal storage. The new Pixels are IP67 rated & sport squeezable sides features. Just squeeze the device to access the Assistant.

 On the rear, there is a 12.2MP camera with OIS and EIS. There is also an 8MP autofocus camera with the f/2.4 aperture on the front for selfies. The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will ship with Google Lens, the AI-powered object recognition platform. The Pixel 2 XL measures 157.9 x 76.7 x 7.9 mm while the Pixel 2 with slightly smaller display comes measures 145.7 x 69.7 x 7.8 mm. By weighing 175 grams, the Pixel 2 XL might not feel that heavy considering its 6-inch display. With the bigger form factor, the Pixel 2 XL also accommodates a bigger 3,520mAh battery whereas Pixel 2 sports 2700mAh battery.
The company launched the Pixel 2 for $649, and the Pixel 2 XL for $849. Google will sell the device directly via the Google Store. You can pre-order both phones starting today i.e Wednesday, Oct. 4 in the US and UK. Pre-orders in Australia begin Oct. 20. The Pixel 2 comes in three colors: Kinda Blue, Just Black and Clearly White and the Pixel 2 XL has two color variants: Just Black and Black and White
